I remember in 8std,I was told that a computer can answer anything,if you have a computer you don't need books,we were told this in every computer class and we were waiting just to get a glimpse of computer and finally it happened after a year,I still remember the moment touching the computer, everyone was excited and I even bored my mom for almost a week with the computer story.Surprisingly the computers were treated royally in the air conditioner room. And then we got promoted to the next grade and we had computer practicals,on my turn I asked the computer few question,no response, only then my teacher said that the answer have to be fed in first and only then would the computer answer. How silly! But today,I can ask the computer anything and it answers, but who feeds the information.Google? No! Wikipedia...No Brainer, but everyone knows Wikipedia is a non profit organization unlike Google or any other search-engine which is totally dependent on Wikipedia.Wikipedia needs fund to keep it on.I donated. If u r gonna ask me why should we,then Our kids would be referring Wikipedia more than the text books,if not kids at least their teachers would.Trust me,very soon we all would be having a pager like device made by wiki, and we would use it to refer the IPC when caught by a cop,or to know the pros and cons of a gadget,or even to know the adverse effect of any drug.Just a 100 buck donated to wiki will help hundred people.

Chanakya's Chant

Chanakya is synonymous with politics in our country, and this book is also about politics. We all have heard politics is dirty but none told us that the dirt is worth millions, and Ashwin sanghi clearly tells us how much it is worth, and why no politician will clean it. I would call this book “Guide to get into Indian politics”. The author has chose to twine politics in the period of both ancient and modern India, but there isn’t much difference except for Chanakya leaving a treasure Arthasastra. We all have heard of Chanakya as a great strategist, surprisingly he too had a love story. Is it possible for humans to be immune against Cobra venom?Yes,it is possible and they were trained on Chanakya’s request. Is it possible for any normal person to become a strong politician?Yes,only You need a powerful and intelligent guide. And if anybody hasn’t noticed why telecom ministry has become so powerful, the this book has answers. The most interesting part I enjoyed was the logic behind the poll surveys. This book has answers to so many political dramas happened or happening in our country.Does Chanakya’s chant work in this modern time politics, well,it is for you to find out. If you are really interested in politics then this book is a definite treat for you.

Biriyani
Just the word Biriyani would make me feel hungry. The excitement never wanes whenever I hear the word biriyani, and our country will never be devoid of biriyani, biriyani must be the only dish that has many versions varying to geographical locations and yet each one is authentic. It's definitely a culinary delight that mughal rulers have gifted us.Somewhere i read that Biriyani was a secret dish in Emperor Akbar's kitchen which he would relish everyday.Somehow we are lucky than the emperor as we have many varieties. And I was thinking how would a secret dish be revealed througout the nation and each region has a different version, finally i could think of only this, the emperor would definitely have invited other kings and nawabs of his time, and they would have been surprised at biriyani and tried it out in their own guess work and thats is why Lucknow,Oudh,Hyderabad,Arcot and Ambur have tasty biriyanis for they were under mughal rule for a long time.My mom wasn't invited for any emperor's feast, but her biriyani too is yummy.Biriyani for lunch today:)

Break with Love
No…I don’t mean to beaks anyone’s love for anything. Break
fast with love.or Breakfast with love.My Mom still keeps telling me breakfast
is the most important meal of the day.The most important dish that irritates me
for a breakfast is Idli,so does for most of us I believe but then my mom says
this secret,The world’s best and worst food are southindia recipes, best is idli
and the worst is pickle.Idli irritates me,and when I’m irritated, the universe
also gets irritated with me and nothing works in my favour that day.Only then I
realized,Everyday is a good day,if it is bad then it is because of our way.A
breakfast is important not only because it provides food for our body, also mood
for the soul.As I said the day I’m served idli or upma or anything that I don’t
like,I’d give a weird look and mostly leave without eating, irritated and then
the irritation is reflected throughout the day.I noticed on rare occasions, few
simple things that i can do even with my eyes blind goes wrong,on deep thinking
those occasions happen the day i leave home irritated with breakfast, only then
i decided no matter whatever is there for me to break the fast,I'll break with
love.If its not given with love,i make sure its received with love, and I’ve
stopped categorizing food that I like
and I don’t like.I love everything that my mom makes because she makes with love and I’ve to
receive with LoveJ

WIM Syndrome
There are so many syndromes which were a night mare during college days. And now when I don’t even have to think about them, there is a new syndrome that is been haunting me recently,When Is your Marriage! and i call this WIM Syndrome.Few questions cause chaos in us and even make us doubt ourselves. "When is your marriage" must be the most irritating question for anyone of my age. This question is very common with uncles and aunts, not all the uncles and aunts ask this question out of love, they ask because it is their way to signal that they truly care for us,but it is just a routine for them, asking any one who they think is of marriageable age.Its simple for them to ask,its easy for me to blush, but they don't realize the chaos it creates in me. This question might initially not have an impact, but then when people go on ask about this, it has an impact. At least uncles an aunties might have forgotten the fact that their marriage wasn’t an easy affair, but, friends who very well know that marriage isn’t an one man affair, there is so much involved starting from birth time to the right time and most importantly the choices and compromises we need to make and yet they ask you the same question. Please….it is not that I don’t wanna get married, my time for marriage hasn’t come when it comes I’d also be happy as you and definitely I’d intimate you guys. So,stop asking me this annoying question, not only me but anyone who you think is of marriageable age and not married yet,Because his time hasn’t come.

Shiva Trilogy
Every
book we read has the power to render wings for imagination but very few books
gives us more power than the word imagination itself, and Shiva trilogy is one
such book. It is hard for one book to keep us occupied and this series of three
books kept me occupied for almost three years. Every book that I read kept me
busy continuously. Every Hindu knows the family story of lord Shiva, but what
makes this book special is the author
has very brilliantly traced the origin of lord Shiva (though imaginary
only) and very genuinely roped in all the
other characters beginning from bhadra to mithra. I have always knows
Shiva as a god who according to my mother punishes when wrong done and
specially he is a very wrathful lord, but throughout my journey with this book
I have found a special respect for the lord as a very dignified, justified hero.
Right from the beginning of the book I was impressed especially with the
characters like Ayurvati, whose is a doctor(Ayurveda) and the way the city of Meluha has been
described with its infra structure like public drainage, quarantine block etc
took me to a different level of imagination, awestruck by the knowledge of the
ancient Indians. Words like Rudra, Neelkanth, Somras which are usually common
only in the regional languages were odd in English, but only for few pages.
Forget the grandmother’s version of lord Ganesha having the features of
elephant, for you would enjoy the version described in this book. I would
always cherish the memories of the journey of imagination through this trilogy.
And I would definitely recommend Shiva trilogy a must read for every Indian.
The Art of Cooking is SIMPLE
Sometimes, when my mom says, do this, don’t do that.I’d feel agitated for I think the only thing my mom knows is cooking, but my mom’s say is true, always. How can someone who can only cook can be so right about everything. Not only my mom, guess every mom would always be right. And for all the woman I’d known,or taken opinion from are always right.I don’t mean that Men can’t be right.Men mostly take momentary decision, whereas women’s decision are future perfect.Women today have raised equally to men. There isn’t anything that women can’t do,but there are few things that men can’t do like women, one such thing is Cooking. The art of Cooking is SIMPLE,not simple.
Skill
Cutting, Chopping, Slicing, and Grating requires skill else we’ll end up adding haemoglobin to the vegetables. Out of the sometimes that I cut vegetables, few times I’ve cut myself, but, never heard any women cut themselves frequently. And that is why women know how to handle differently with different people.
Intelligence
Intelligence is equal to Ingredients. Women just know what to add and what not to. And they exactly know what ingredient would give the desired taste. And that is why they know what to say and what not to say.
Manipulation
To fry or to boil, everyone must be thinking everything can be boiled and fried but only women know what is to be boiled, what is to be fried and what can be both boiled and fried. Same way, women know when to pacify, when to demand, who to trust.
Patience
Every recipe takes its own sweet time, but men would never have that patience, I myself while cooking wouldn’t have the patience and keep bothering either opening it now and then, or stirring, but never had I had the patience to wait till its cooked. For women, patience is a virtue. And that is why they always wait for the right moment to convey or to act.
Love
There is nothing like Love. Ask a worried woman to cook and it would definitely not be as good as it was. For women it is all about love, they are the best when it comes to showing their love and that’s why every man longs for a woman’s love.
Energy
Cooking is over. Who is gonna wash it?.Many a times men can cook but I’m sure men hate to dish wash .But no woman would hesitate to wash, because she very well knows that she has to cook again. We men never worry about the consequences, but Women’s every action is directly proportional to the consequences
And this is why women are the way they are, because they can cook.If men too can cook, there is more to learn than cooking alone.
Where is my Watch
There were days when watch was lucky, I would never leave
home without my watch. And now I'm still looking for my watch. What happened to
my watch, nothing!whatever is happened has happened with me, I’m the one who has
lost the habit of looking at watch, only then I started thinking, what are the
other things that I've stopped using....Watch,Pen,Pocket diary.Well,I've
stopped carrying these things, but it has all been replaced by only one
powerful gadget and that is mobile, more precisely Smartphone, the trend today
is "You aren't smart, unless you have a smart phone”. True that smart
phones are providing us convenience with comfort, but then isn't it making us addicted.
Change is good, but if the change is gonna change the good’s then we need to
rethink about it.Deep down smart phones are depriving us of few good things. My
complaint isn’t about smartphones but then about our changing habits. I feel a
watch or pen or a diary gives us a sense of responsibility,No irresponsibility would be a burden if we notice tiny responsibilities like this.Very soon
Phablets are gonna replace smartphones and then we’ll be forgetting
television, media players, laptops and the way we watched television as a family. But let us not forget the few good habits.
